Bio
Greg Dixon will forever be a part of the history and legacy of this law firm. Greg was a civil and criminal litigator. He was born on December 16, 1966 and raised in Checotah, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Business Administration in 1989. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Greg was a member of the Oklahoma Sooner football team that won three conference titles and the 1985 national title. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1994 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and was admitted to practice law in Oklahoma.
From 1995 to 1998 Greg served as an Assistant District Attorney for District 25 - Okmulgee and McIntosh counties. In 1999 he served as Staff Attorney for the District Attorney’s Council in Oklahoma City. Then from 2000 to 2003, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for District 21 - Cleveland, McClain and Garvin counties.
Greg pursued a successful private practice in Purcell after leaving the public sector, with a focus on criminal defense and general civil litigation. Greg was elected District Judge for Cleveland, McClain, and Garvin counties in 2011, serving as Supervising District Judge in McClain and Garvin counties. His four years on the bench equipped him with a well-rounded knowledge in multiple areas of the law.
In 2015, Greg resigned his judicial seat to re-enter private practice in the oil and gas sector in Colorado. He subsequently returned to Oklahoma to continue his practice of the law. Greg focused in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, using his extensive experience as District Judge, prosecutor, and litigator to provide outstanding legal services to his clients.
In January of 2019, Greg joined Drew Nichols on Main Street and, with Drew, was a founding attorney of Nichols Dixon. Drew and Greg first worked together as state prosecutors in District 21 and later attended prosecutor school together in Charleston, South Carolina in the summer of 2001. This is where their friendship was born and would continue for the next several decades. Greg and Drew were friends long before they became law partners, which made the partnership a natural and easy fit.
Greg was born and raised in rural Oklahoma with a strong emphasis on faith, hard work, and respect for others. Greg was committed to his clients, his friends, his family and, most of all, his Lord and SavSior.
Greg was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2024 and passed away on November 17, 2024. His loss was a devasting blow and this firm will never be the same. Greg was the man in arena. He was a gladiator both in and out of the courtroom and he will never be forgotten. At Nichols Law Firm, we will forever be tied to and thankful for the incredible work done by Greg Dixon. His work impacted countless lives on the bench, in the courtroom, and in the community. Greg had a true servant’s heart and love for God. It was a blessing to have Greg in our lives and a part of this firm. We will keep his memory alive through the work we do here.
